Karcan Cutting Tool Industry and Trade Joint Stock Company, located in Eskişehir, which has become an industrial and production center, was established in 1996 by Mr. Ümit Gezer with the aim of producing carbide cutting tools (converted to a joint-stock company in 2017). Thus, Karcan started its activities as Turkey's first cutting tool manufacturer.

As Turkey's most modern and well-equipped cutting tool company, Karcan opened the door to "unlimited tools" options for its customers by operating state-of-the-art 5 and 6-axis CNC machines of German and Swiss origin. Incorporating evolving CNC measurement techniques, Karcan, with the impact of revolutionary logistics and a well-established shipping system, elevated its sharpening services to the upper segment. By combining two expertise areas in product and service sectors—maintaining the originality of the tool and achieving precision before sharpening—Karcan started offering a "Recycling" service, providing the opportunity for "correct tool, maximum hardness, wear, chemical and thermal resistance for extended usage life with the right coating." Additionally, our company entered the Eskişehir Aviation Cluster, one of the most important sectors served since 2011, actively participating. In 2011, it became one of the global suppliers of Delphi Diesel System, a global player in the sector, and in 2014, it rapidly increased collaboration with Bosch Global as a global supplier.

Demonstrating its past projects in R&D activities, Karcan's R&D unit gained the status of an R&D Center in June 2017, approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Turkey. Providing customer-focused unique tool production, standard milling production, recycling suitable renovation, and sharpening services, Karcan's R&D Center continues its activities with an understanding that generates added value for analytics, industry, and academia, adhering to a philosophy of constant change. The goal of the R&D Department is to offer solutions that make economical use possible for customers, closely monitor technology and global changes, and generate new ideas, making these ideas applicable in advanced technology sectors such as aviation, automotive, defense, and mold making. Our company has sufficient human resources, software, hardware, laboratory, and testing facilities, as well as production capabilities for these activities. Karcan Cutting Tools Inc., the only company with an R&D department in the cutting tool sector, is an extremely innovative and technology-oriented company with projects completed in the past, ongoing projects, and planned projects for the future.
